  1. Advanced Removal Techniques
    • Cold knife vs. power tool use, Cut-out methods (wire, cord, blade systems), Damage prevention to vehicle body and trim.
  2. Preparation & Installation
    • Pinchweld preparation and corrosion treatment, Primer and adhesive application, Setting and sealing techniques (manual vs. setting devices).
  3. Side & Back Glass Replacement
    • Fixed vs. movable glass, Door panel removal and regulator considerations, Encapsulated glass handling.
  4. Repair and Replacement Quality Standards
    • OEM procedures vs. short-cuts, Safe Drive Away Time (SDAT) and FMVSS requirements, Leak prevention, water testing, and final inspection.
  5. Customer Service & Documentation
    • Work order documentation, Explaining repairs/replacements to customers, Warranty communication and issue resolution.
  6. Calibration Awareness
    • Intro to ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), How windshield replacement affects safety systems, When recalibration is required (static vs. dynamic).
  7. Efficiency & Workflow
    • Job site setup (mobile vs. in-shop), Time management tips, Common mistakes and how to avoid them.
  • Mastery of windshield removal tools (cold knife, power, wire/cord systems)
  • Preparing pinchwelds and applying adhesives correctly
  • Installing and sealing windshields with precision
  • Replacing side windows, door glass, and back glass
  • Preventing leaks and noise issues through proper inspection and testing
  • Understanding ADAS impact and when recalibration is required
  • Documenting jobs clearly for insurance and compliance purposes
  • Improving efficiency in both mobile and in-shop environments

Outcome: Students will be able to complete full windshield, side, and back glass replacements using industry-standard tools and adhesives, prevent leaks and safety issues, and document jobs in compliance with OEM and insurance requirements.
